Correcting the World

One day a man onboard a ship walks by one of the cabins and notices a man drilling a hole in the floor. He shouts, “What are you doing? Are you crazy?!” The man looks up bewildered and says, “This is my cabin, and I can do whatever I want in it.” The other man becomes irate. “You fool, a hole in your cabin will sink the whole ship.”

This seems like a simple story, but The Zohar uses it to clarify a deeper secret of life: we’re each responsible for one another.

2012–the year that everyone has been talking about–is upon us. It’s a fresh start, buzzing with New Year’s resolutions and goals. With the new year, the energy around the globe is one of change, of growth, of decision to do things differently, to take ourselves to another level. Therefore, it's not a coincidence that this week’s energy from the Zohar beckons us to the consciousness of life.

Personal peace and health leads to global peace and health. Everything is interconnected. Do something nourishing for your spirit today.

We are at the precipice, at the cusp of a tremendous change in the world.

Let’s face it. If Satan were to play chess, his pieces would all seem to be in place and the chances of a worst case scenario, of those pieces wreaking havoc on the world, would seem very likely. Natural disasters, economic crisis, personal trauma and struggle in our lives… these only show us that Satan is playing his game pretty well today. But we don’t have to accept it.

Never forget that it’s the work you do that heats up the world.

Be a Real Man

Over the next 2 weeks, there is an air about us that allows us to gain freedom from anything that hinders our personal growth and fulfillment.
But how can we speak of spiritual and emotional freedom when so many lack physical freedom?

Last week I had the honor of meeting with Governor Cesar Duarte of the state of Chihuahua, Mexico, on behalf of the Kabbalah Centre.

We spoke about the atrocities and tremendous challenges facing his state. In Mexico, 40,000 lives have been lost in 5 years. Many of the victims are under 18. Survivors are often left as orphans -- there are 17,000 in the state of Chihuahua alone. Towns are becoming depopulated due to violent killings, for instance, in Monterrey, where two drug mafias are locked in vicious competition.
